About GalwayBeat Guide

Since 2014, we've been helping locals and visitors discover the best of Galway — from trad sessions in the Latin Quarter to festival weekends across the county.

Our Story

GalwayBeat Guide began as a small newsletter shared among friends who were tired of missing great gigs and festival announcements around the city. What started as a weekend passion project quickly grew into one of Galway's most-read local guides.

Today, a small editorial team based on Shop Street publishes daily event listings, honest venue reviews and practical guides covering Galway city and county — from Athenry to Clifden. Everything we publish is researched and written by people who live here and go out here.

We're independent, locally owned and committed to keeping our listings free for readers, supported by transparent promotional partnerships with local venues and organisers.

What We Stand For

The principles that guide everything we publish.

Locally Rooted

Our team lives and works in Galway. Every recommendation comes from first-hand experience, not aggregated listings.

Honest Reviews

We never accept payment for positive coverage. If a venue pays for promotion, it's always clearly labelled.

Always Current

Listings are refreshed every morning, with late additions and schedule changes published throughout the day.

Community First

We champion small venues, emerging artists and community festivals alongside the big-name events.
