Our Story
GalwayBeat Guide began as a small newsletter shared among friends who were tired of missing great gigs and festival announcements around the city. What started as a weekend passion project quickly grew into one of Galway's most-read local guides.
Today, a small editorial team based on Shop Street publishes daily event listings, honest venue reviews and practical guides covering Galway city and county — from Athenry to Clifden. Everything we publish is researched and written by people who live here and go out here.
We're independent, locally owned and committed to keeping our listings free for readers, supported by transparent promotional partnerships with local venues and organisers.

GalwayBeat Guide launches as a weekly email listing weekend gigs and events, sent to a few hundred friends and neighbours.
2016 — Going Online
We launch the website with daily event listings and our first venue reviews, growing to thousands of monthly readers.
2019 — Full County Coverage
Our coverage expands beyond the city to towns across Galway county, including Clifden, Tuam, Kinvara and Connemara.
2022 — Promotion Services
We introduce promotional packages for venues and organisers, helping local events reach a wider audience.
